Hi, welcome to 4th grade! I am so excited to have your child in my class this year. I love coming to school every day and I am very passionate about my students being successful, in all respects, in 4th grade. This will be a year of growth, in which they will experience more responsibility, increased autonomy, and more difficult content than they have had in previous grades. It is my goal to help them navigate this year with established and consistent expectations, implemented with love and grace.

I truly believe that creating a positive classroom culture is essential to learning. I ask that all students come into our classroom every day with an open mind, a kind heart, and a positive attitude. I also ask parents to help support this mindset at home. There is zero tolerance for unkind behavior in my classroom.

I graduated from Georgia Southern University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science in 2005. I proceeded to the Augusta Area Dietetic Internship masters program, successfully completing the program and passing my RD boards in 2006. I worked as a Registered Dietitian for 15 years, mostly part-time, while being a full-time mom to my three wonderful children. Once my youngest child entered kindergarten, I decided to pursue my lifelong passion to teach and inspire!

My husband, Corby, and I will be married 15 years this October. We have three children, Audrey, Adalyn, and CJ. Audrey is in 7th grade at St. Mary's Catholic School. I am so fortunate that Adalyn and CJ are both still here at Aiken El, 5th and 2nd grade! We have 3 dogs (Chance, Tigger, and Baylor) and a cat (Lilly Rose)!

During my free time, I enjoy running, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. I have run 17 marathons but am currently not training for anything, just running for physical and mental health! I have been a vegetarian since I was 17 years old and I love anything that's healthy, or a yummy whole grain bread! I love to shop at Hobby Lobby and TJ Maxx, or from my house (in PJs) on Amazon! My favorite color is pink but on Saturdays, in the fall, we wear red and black! GO DAWGS!!
