I am so thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to serve as your principal.

Over the past thirteen years, my experience and service in education has reached a wide variety of students at all three instructional levels. I began my career as a Special Education teacher before moving into administration. I am eager to work alongside students, teachers, staff, parents, and the community to ensure the success of Aiken Elementary. 

Welcome to Aiken Elementary! I am excited to serve students, parents, teachers, and staff that make Aiken Elementary one of the best schools in Aiken County. 

I am married to my best friend, Tyler. We have four children: Ella Rixbie, Zoey, Evan, and Abbey. We also have two dogs, Trooper and Teeny. (I am Teeny’s favorite human.) Our active lifestyle keeps me busy with multiple sports each season and being home improvement weekend warriors. We enjoy visiting national and state parks, playing board games, and watching Carolina football.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of South Carolina in 2006, and then I began my career in Aiken County. I taught kindergarten for 15 years at Chukker Creek Elementary. While teaching and serving on the Leadership team, I earned a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration and Leadership from Columbia College in 2021. Last year, I had the privilege of serving as the Certified Recruitment and Staffing Coordinator for the district. I have an extensive background in instruction, data analysis, and assessment. My mission at AES is to encourage kids to have a passion for learning and help teachers foster it. I am excited about starting my journey of serving.
