Mr. George Wingard, Program Coordinator, Savannah River Archeological Research Program shared facts about Dave Drake and his pottery from the 1800s. Dave was enslaved in Edgefield County and able to read and write. Mr. Wingard explained that the jars were used somewhat like Tupperware or other storage containers.
