JDLE Running Club include any student from 1st-5th grade.
They are coached by Ms. DiTillio and Mr. Sapp.
There are approximately 90 members in the running club. Anyone interested may belong.
We run at two (2) seasonal events. One at the North Augusta Greenway and the other at North Augusta High School. One event is a road course and the other is a track meet.
Last year we had individual winners in both events, and won the overall team competition.
Running Season begins in March. We run Tuesday's and Thursday's at 7:00 a.m. on the grounds of the school on a course that is set up and monitored by volunteers on those mornings. Cards are punched to keep up with each students mileage.
Parent Volunteers are a key to our Running Clubs success.
We will be marching in this years Christmas Parade.
Our Running Club gives back to the Community through volunteering. Running Club sponsors the "Spooky to be Hungry" food donation program.
Our season ends with a year end banquet where student runners are recognized for mileage accomplishments and other achievements.
