Mrs. Leah Bynes
Mrs. Bynes is a native of Eastover, SC. She has been teaching for 16 years. She spent 6 of those years teaching in Sumter, SC before marrying her husband, Jeremy Bynes. They have two children-Jeremy II and Gabrielle. She graduated with honors from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She also received a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction-Reading from Grand Canyon University and a Master's Degree in Math Education from the University of South Carolina! (GO GAMECOCKS!) In 2013, she became a National Board Certified Teacher and recertified in 2023. Mrs. Bynes has a passion for learning and teaching students to become critical thinkers and lifelong learners. In her spare time, she LOVES watching the Carolina Panthers (or any football game), traveling, or shopping with her family. Her motto has and continues to be, “If I can help a child along my journey, my living will not be in vain.”
