Get Caught Reading!

Students who get caught reading during their free time will receive a "Reading Ticket", which will be entered into a weekly drawing. Weekly winners will select a free book and their choice of a Marvel or DC Comics dog tag. The names of weekly winners will also be entered into a grand prize drawing that will take place in the Spring. The final prize will be GRAND!

Spelling Bee

STEM learners have the opportunity to annually participate in the classroom spelling bees in late November/early December.  ELA teachers will provide study guides for students to practice. First and second place class winners will represent their class in the school-wide bee, also held in late November/early December. The first and second place school winners will represent the school at the ACPSD Area Spelling Bee typically held in December. The third place school winner will serve as an alternate. The winners of the Area Bee will move on to the Aiken County Spelling Bee after the new year, and hopefully move up to the national level! Scripps spelling resources can be found at .

 SCASL Book Award Bookmarks

Read an award winning book and then enter the SCASL Book Award Bookmark contest. Visit the media center or the SCASL website for the requirements. First place winner receives $50! The deadline for Mrs. Hairston to mail your entries is Monday, February 3, 2020.
