Welcome to Second Grade!!
Second grade is a big year for students. We will fine tune those reading and phonics skills with daily lessons. We will deepen comprehension through many strategies. Students will be working on improving basic math concepts, World Geography, and Science. In addition we will improve and strengthen our writing skills as we write across the curriculum. This is a busy but fun and exciting year as we will grow together through interactive experiences and collaboratively working with our peers.
Students will be responsible for following PBIS behavior expectations. There will be rewards and positive incentives for doing so.
Together this will be a great year.

We are off to a great start building our classroom community. Students are getting to know each other and building helpful relationships for our teamwork throughout the year. I want to encourage parents to please go over signed papers each Wednesday with students to stay on top of class performance. Students typically have a very small amount of written homework but should do some reading and study spelling, vocabulary, or math facts a little each night to ensure success. Thank you for your help in making this a great year in 3rd grade!
