Hi! My name is Melesia Farkas and I am the  third grade math teacher at Busbee Elementary. I began my career at Ridge Spring-Monetta Elementary School, teaching first grade in 1985. After teaching first grade for seven years, I transferred to Busbee Elementary, where I taught second grade for seventeen years. At that point, I was moved to third grade and that's where you can find me now. 

Teaching is not just a job for me, but a calling. It is my passion. I believe that all of the students in my class can exceed all expectations with the right motivation and push. I am a product of the Wagener schools, so I know great things can come from this area!

I graduated with my BA in Early Childhood from Columbia College in 1985. I chose Columbia College because it was my mother's alma mater, and it was within commuting distance from home. I later obtained my Masters in Education from USC. I am also National Board certified. I am currently beginning my 39th year of teaching.

I was born and raised in Perry, South Carolina. I am the youngest of the three children born to Hubert and Margie Blizzard (also known as the "funeral home people"). My brother continues to run the family business and my sister is the art teacher here at Busbee/Corbett.
