Hello there!  My name is Tammie Garrett and I am the Cosmetology II & III Instructor at the Aiken County Career and Technology Center. I am excited to be here at the Career Center with your students. I have taught cosmetology both in the Aiken area as well as at Augusta Tech. I have always wanted to be a hair stylist, so after I graduated high school from Strom Thurmond, I later received my cosmetology license after attending Kenneth Shuler Cosmetology School in 2003.  I've worked in the cosmetology industry for over 20 years. I received my Associates of Arts in Elementary Education in 2010 and my Bachelor's of Science in Business Management in 2013. I received my instructors license in 2017 from Aiken School of Cosmetology.  I am also a local hair stylist here in the Aiken area and I currently hold a Master Cosmetology license in the state of Georgia since 2018. I was awarded First Year Teacher of the Year at the Career Center 2023-2024 school year. Teaching cosmetology as a part of the career and technology education is truly a passion that I enjoy fulfilling each day-it's the best of both worlds! In my spare time I enjoy watching movies, cooking, and spending time with my family. I look forward to an exciting and successful school year.
