My name is Joseph Chandler.    I am the Fire-EMS Instructor at the ACCTC.  The 2016-2017 school year I served as a Substitute Teacher with the Ï㽶ӰÊÓ.  From August 2017 until March 2019, I served at Jackson STEM Middle School as the Synergistic Lab Aide.  On March 18, 2019, I became the Emergency Fire Management Instructor at the Aiken County Career and Technology Center.  I have the approval to teach: Fire 1 & 2, EMS 1 & 2, Health Science 1, and Medical Terminology.  I look forward to a Great and Successful Year for all the students each year.  Plans are to have EMS 3 (EMT) dual enrollment with Aiken Technical College by the 2025-2026 school year.

Before coming to the Ï㽶ӰÊÓ, I served over 44 years in Emergency Services of Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement.  I started as a Firefighter at Bath Fire Dept. (now the Midland Valley Fire Dept.) back in 1978 while I was a senior at LBC High School.  I have worked with Aiken County EMS, Aiken Public Safety, Savannah River Site Fire Dept., Aiken County Sheriff's Office as well as, a Reserve Police Officer with Jackson Police Dept. I have also worked as a professional Scout with the Boy Scouts of America as the District Executive for Edgefield, Aiken and Barnwell Counties.  Some of my other volunteer work has been with the Jackson Fire Dept. and Jackson First Alert Rescue Squad since moving to Jackson in 1996. I retired from the Savannah River Site Fire Dept. in 2012 after nearly 25 years there working mostly as a Paramedic-Firefighter.  I was first certified as an Emergency Medical Technician in 1980 and as a Paramedic in 1985.  I served for 31 years as a certified Paramedic until August 2016.  Over the last 45 plus years, I have national certifications as a Fire Fighter I & II, Instructor I, Fire Officer I, Haz-Mat Technician, Emergency Medical Technician just to name a few.  Today I continue as a National Certified Emergency Medical Technician. I am a South Carolina Fire Academy Instructor as well as an Instructor with the American Safety and Health Institute and a Community Emergency Response Team Instructor.

As far as other schooling and training besides Emergency Services, I graduated from LBC High School back in 1979.  I am also a graduate of the University of South Carolina at Aiken (Associate in Science in Criminal Justice, 1983), Liberty University (Advanced Bible Studies Diploma, 1990) American Bible College & Seminary (Bachelor of Theology, 1991) American Bible College & Seminary (Master of Arts in Biblical Studies, 1996) Master’s International School of Divinity (Doctorate in Practical Ministry in Chaplaincy, 2001) Liberty University (Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies {Cum Laude}, 2008) Master's International University of Divinity (Bachelor of Arts Certificate in Hebraic Roots of Christianity, 2018).

I have been married to my wonderful wife, Deidra, for over 41 years in 2024.  I have three outstanding grown children as well as several grandchildren.  I have been ordained in the ministry since 1995 and director of In Him Ministries/Like The Rabbi Ministries. I have served in several different ministry positions, including serving as the Pastor of Capers Chapel in Beech Island, SC from June 2015 until June 2020.

My goal is to help all my students to reach their full potential. I look forward to serving each one at the Aiken County Career and Technology Center as well as all others within the Ï㽶ӰÊÓ!
