Dr. Ryan Ashley

I have the distinct honor of serving as Kennedy Middle School’s principal. The 2020-2021 school year will be my second year with the Ï㽶ӰÊÓ, and I look forward to being a part of the ACPSD team for many more years to come. I began my career in Dorchester District Two as a social studies teacher at Summerville High School. I then went to Charleston Southern University to complete my Master’s Degree in Secondary Administration and Supervision and became an administrator at Ashley Ridge High School and then at Fort Dorchester High School. This is my 15th year of being a South Carolina educator, and I couldn’t think of anything else I would rather do. While working in Dorchester County I enrolled at Liberty University and completed by Ed S and eventually returned to finish my doctoral studies.?

I am a big believer in service to the community. While living in Summerville, I was the President-Elect of the Summerville-Oakbrook Rotary Club. My recent move to Aiken will now allow me to join the Rotary Club in Aiken and continue serving in the community. I am currently in my third year as a member of the Board of Trustees at Charleston Southern University, my alma mater. I am also a member of the S.C. Association of School Administrators (SCASA) and have served in the past on the ACT State Council. I am also a graduate of the S.C. Department of Education Developing Aspiring Principal’s Program (DAPP).?

As the principal of Kennedy Middle School, I have a few goals that I would like to focus on this year:
Establish a positive culture for both students and adults at Kennedy Middle School that is based on discipline, accountability, and a vision for the future.
Ensure academic success is of paramount importance to Kennedy Middle School by
Continuing to expand the school’s Literacy Program
Helping students establish and achieve personal academic goals for themselves
Creating a culture of personal responsibility
Creating a culture at Kennedy Middle School that is safe, nurturing, and student-centered.

If I can be of any service to you at all, please reach out via email or give me a call at the school.

Ms. Nicole Stansell

I am excited about continuing this adventure as Assistant Principal. This is my 16th year at Kennedy where I’ve previously taught 7th & 8th grades ELA, Math, & Geometry. I also coached cheerleading for 7 years, sponsored FCA & Student Council, and led the Math Department on the Leadership team for many years.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Middle School Education from the University of North Georgia in 2007 and continued to earn a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction along with a certificate in Leadership & Administration. I became an avid supporter and contributor to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in 2005 after my mother was diagnosed in 2002.

Throughout my years at Kennedy, I’ve worked alongside many wonderful educators and leaders who helped shape me into the educator I am today. I believe teaching children includes teaching the whole child – academically, socially, and emotionally. I strive to be a safe place for students to reach out to when they want to celebrate success or need support. Kennedy is a home to me, and I love the community spirit associated with our school. I look forward to extending relationships with our stakeholders and having a great 2022-2023 school year.

Sincerely,

Nicole Stansell

Mr. Thurston Williams

Greetings everyone! I am excited join the Kennedy family as your assistant principal for the 2022-23 school year!

I was born and raised in Augusta, GA and this is my 14th year in education, my 2nd in Aiken County Public Schools. After spending my first eight years as a 7th grade math teacher, I transitioned to high school teaching Algebra I, II and Geometry over five years in Richmond County (GA). Most recently, I served as Assistant Principal at North Augusta High School.

I earned my Bachelor's in Communication, Masters in Teaching, Specialist in Curriculum & Instruction, and my Educational Leadership at Augusta University.

Through the years and no matter the school, my mission has always been to build as many positive relationships among students, staff, and our community as possible. I believe these relationships serve as the undercurrent of a positive school environment; one in which students feel loved, empowered, and a sense of belonging. I aim to bring that same energy to Kennedy Middle School and add value to our community.
