Mrs. Latonia Evans

Mrs. Latonia Evans has been named principal at Leavelle McCambell Middle School for the 2023-24 school year.

She has twelve years of teaching experience with the majority of her teaching career at Leavelle McCampbell Middle School. She has taught 6th Grade Science and Math for one year at Miller Core Knowledge Magnet Middle School in Macon, GA; 6th - 8th Grade Math, Science, and Social Studies for seven years at Leavelle McCampbell Middle School in Graniteville, SC; 6th - 8th Grade Science for four years at North Augusta Middle School in North Augusta, SC.

Most recently, she completed her 5th year as an assistant principal at Schofield Middle School. It is in her position as an administrator where she has found great fulfillment living her dream. Being an administrator provides her with the chance to work collaboratively with teachers on a daily basis, while also remaining connected to students learning and growing in the classroom. She firmly believes that every child can achieve greatness when they have a caring adult providing opportunities for them to be successful.

She graduated from Perry High School in Perry, GA and Augusta State University (Augusta University) in Augusta, GA with a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education, Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction, and Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership.

It is her goal to embrace and sustain a culture of learning, nurturing, service, leadership, and continuous improvement. Through the collective efforts of all LMMS Family and Partners, we will maintain the shared mission and vision of the school.

She is looking forward to focusing on student achievement and working together to achieve all set goals.

Mr. Devone McKie

My name is Devone McKie and I am a proud product of Aiken County Public Schools (Byrd Elementary, Leavelle McCampbell Middle - the old building, Midland Valley High). I also earned my teaching degree from USCA. I am so excited to make a return to LMMS but this time as the newly appointed Assistant Principal. I have taught 5K and 2nd grade at Hammond Hill Elementary for the past five years. During the summers, I have had the pleasure of teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders during the Summer Academic Recovery Program. I am fully trained on Leader in Me and served on the action team “Achieve Goals,” which is equivalent to LMMS’s Empowering Instruction action team. For the past five years, I successfully assisted students in creating and achieving academic and personal goals. I am very passionate about education and am certainly looking forward to continuing to serve students and teachers as the new Assistant Principal. One of the many reasons why I am glad to be apart of the LMMS family is because I am able to come back "home" to help lead and grow teachers and students. I grew up in Graniteville and my parents still reside in the community. I am looking forward to meeting everyone!
