Homework Policy

Students have homework Monday-Thursday. All homework is kept in their R.E.D. (Read Every Day) folder. Please return this folder daily along with your child's agenda. 

• Reading: Each night, students read a story of their choice. Check the homework sheet, listen to your child read the story, discuss using the supplied comprehension questions, and initial his or her reading log. 
• Spelling: Complete the spelling activity in the folder. 

Behavior Plan

• Students earn points on ClassDojo and can exchange points for incentives in the classroom. These incentives include a Treasure Box, Buddy Lunch, and other incentives.
• If students are not making good choices, they will receive one warning before losing a Dojo point. If the student continues, he or she will lose recess time or will not be allowed to participate in Dojo Store. A note or phone call home will be made if this happens. Certain offenses will warrant a visit to the office.
• Please check your child's folder nightly for a behavior update.
• We are now giving tickets for positive behaviors. These tickets can be used at a school store every two weeks. This is a new program, so we will begin this and get more information as the year goes. 

Graded Paper Folders

• The clear-cover folders that are sent home weekly that contain graded papers, important notices from school, and your child's updated progress report. Please check the folder every week and sign and return all papers on the "Return to School" side. 

Classroom Supplies

• Our classroom could always use donations of snacks, disinfectant wipes, tissues, crayons, glue sticks, and pencils. Thank you!
