Hello! I am very excited to be the media specialist for Hammond Hill Elementary! I love the never-ending adventure that is learning, and I look forward to sharing a spirit of discovery and access to new information and ideas with students in the media center.

I love reading all kinds of books, and I have very fond memories of the public and school libraries I used as a child.  I received a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Education in Educational Technology – Library Media from Georgia College and State University. I began my career in Fort Valley, Georgia, where I was the media specialist at Hunt Elementary before moving to Augusta and working at Southside Elementary. Then I homeschooled my children and taught history and literature at a homeschool co-op.

My husband and I have three children. Our older daughter has just graduated from high school and is headed to Samford University in Birmingham. Our son and younger daughter attend Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School.

My favorite children’s book is The Trumpet of the Swan. I enjoy playing the flute; walking my dog, Bing-Bing; doing all sorts of puzzles; and traveling – especially to Disneyworld and Alabama football games!
