Hello Hammond Hill Elementary Families!

The Hammond Hill PTO would like to welcome you to a new school year!  For those of you who are unfamiliar with the PTO, we are a volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff who dedicate their time to support the school.  When you join the PTO, 100% of the membership dues goes directly back to the school to support teachers, staff, and students. 

 In the past, we have used membership dues and fundraising to do the following:

-Cookies with Santa

-Daddy-Daughter Dance

-Additional technology for students

-New gym floor

-Musical instruments

-Supplies for teachers to use with students

-Additional playground equipment

-Field day

-Support field trips

-Teacher Appreciation treats for professional development trainings

 The PTO can only purchase items plus plan these events and others like them with your support.  Although joining the PTO does not require you volunteer your time, if you would like to volunteer, please make a note of this on the reverse side of this letter when you complete the membership form.  The number of volunteers and members we have directly reflects the amount of support we can provide to Hammond Hill Elementary.  Your child will also like seeing you involved with their education and helping with different activities. 

 This is what you can expect by joining the PTO:

-General meetings:  These meetings are scheduled throughout the year and open to all PTO members.  These meetings are intended to communicate plans, highlight volunteer opportunities and provide any additional updates. 

-PTO Executive Board meetings:  The executive board meets more frequently (usually once per month) to plan the details of events and collaborate with administrators and staff to make Hammond Hill Elementary an even better place for your child.  If you are interested in serving on the executive board, please email us at the address provided below.

-Committee meetings:  These meetings are organized by a member of the executive board on an as-needed basis to support specific events or initiatives.  As a paid PTO member, you can participate in a committee(s) without being a member of the executive board.  These committee opportunities may be communicated via flyer, email, Remind, Facebook and/or at general meetings.

All this to say, you can decide how involved you want to be with the PTO.
