Mrs. Griffis, our Aiken County Teacher of the Year, has been named a Hometown Hero by The Masters Tournament!
The Masters Tournament has named our very own District Teacher of the Year Mrs. Uyen Griffis as one of this year’s Hometown Heroes! The program recognizes a handful of health care providers, firefighters, police officers, teachers and others whose hard work and sacrifice uplift the greater Augusta community. Our District Superintendent joinedl's administration and leaders from the Department of Special Programs to surprise our Hometown Hero in her classroom at Hammond Hill Elementary on Friday. Always teaching, Mrs. Griffis encouraged each student in her classroom to read “The Masters” on the envelope presented to her before carefully opening it to learn of this very special recognition, which includes an invitation to attend the Tournament in April!
