Howdy! Mr. Leander here! I am a proud and passionate veteran teacher of Social Studies. Born and raised on a small family farm in the state of Washington where we grew wheat and raised horses. I'm a country kid at heart that benefited from growing up in a small town where parents, community members, and teachers made young people the focus of their lives. Aiken is my now my home, where I can see there is a community that believes the same. 

Graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor's Degree in History Education. Also, I obtained my Master's in Education: Specialization in Curriculum & Instruction.  I have had the opportunity to teach in the states of Washington, Iowa, and now here in South Carolina! 

The subject of Social Studies is extremely important to me. I find it to be a subject that can relate to our daily lives and it provides a story worth exploring so as to better understand our world. I see my job as a great opportunity to help young people grow, build life skills, and have fun at school! Thank you for reading my biography and Go T-Breds!
