Coach's Bio

  • Chris Hamilton is starting his sixth season at South Aiken High School with 19 years of coaching experience. Hamilton has a 27-24 record over all since taking over as the T-breds Head Coach 5 years ago, including a region championship and an appearace in the Upper State Champion in the 2016 season. With Hamilton's leadership, the T-breds have made play-off appearances 4 of his 5 years.  In the past, he was an Assistant Head Football Coach, Offensive Line Coach, and Head Strength, Speed, and Conditioning Coach at Lexington High School.  From 2001 to 2008, Hamilton served as the Offensive Line/Strength and Conditioning Coach at Myrtle Beach High School. While there he served as the Head Boys Track Coach for seven seasons and Head Wrestling Coach for three seasons. While coaching at Myrtle Beach he was part of the 2008 AAA State Championship football team. In 1997, Hamilton went to North Greenville College where he played football for two seasons. As a starter on the offensive line, the team won the Mid South Conference Championship. Later he transferred to Coastal Carolina University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree and Teacher Certification in Physical Education. Hamilton and his wife April have been married for 18years. They have two children, Zoe (17) and Connor (11). Hamilton’s extended family has lived in Aiken for over 60 years.
