Welcome! I am Joanna Kucinski, a first year teacher at South Aiken High School. I am very excited to be here and teaching Modern World History and Human Geography, after fourteen years teaching first year writing and humanities at North Carolina Central University. I developed my passion for history first at my alma mater, Sweet Briar College, in Virginia, and then at Duke University pursuing a Master’s degree and a Ph.D in history. I am particularly interested in British and European history, social history, and the history of crime. I moved to Aiken in 2022 to be closer to family and for a better equestrian community for me and my horse, Muñeco.
