Evaluating Sources
Evaluating sources to be used for research is very important. Any resource you are considering needs to be evaluated on five key points:
- Timeliness - Is this source up to date? When was it published?
- Relelevance - Does this source answer the question being asked?
- Accuracy - Is this source reliable?
- Author - Who created the source? Are they knowledgeable?
- Purpose - Why was this source created? Do they have a motive other than educating?
