SAHS DECA Members Excel at State Competition
The South Aiken DECA Chapter participated in the state DECA competition in Charleston SC Feb 24-26, with numerous students bringing home top honors. Competing against over 950 students state-wide, all SAHS members brought home an award and 13 qualified to attend the International DECA Competition in Orlando Florida this April. The South Aiken DECA chapter was recognized for the Thrive level certification given to the most active chapters in the country and also won first place-gold level for the Chapter Program of Work, recognizing the top DECA chapters in the state.
DECA is an international youth organization that helps prepare emerging leaders in business and marketing while also preparing students for college and careers. DECA members participate in academic competitions, leadership conferences, work-based learning, professional development and community service activities at the local, state and national level.
