Welcome!

I love teaching at Byrd Elementary School. I am thrilled to be a part of the Kindergarten team. I graduated from Augusta University in 2011 with a Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education. I married my husband, Brett, in 2013. The following year we added our son, Maddux, to our family. In 2022, our second son, Beckett, was born. We attend True North Church in North Augusta.

I love watching the magic of learning happen & I am passionate about building strong educational foundations in each child. I think teaching Kindergarten is the very best job in the world!

When I am not teaching I love spending time with my husband and son, our two dogs, and one cat. I love shopping on Amazon, crafting with my Cricut, watching Netflix, and sipping on Dunkin' iced coffee!

I was selected by peers as Byrd Elementary's First Year Teacher of the Year in 2021. This was a huge honor for me and I am so proud of this accomplishment! I am also a member of the Math & Science Committee. 

I expect my students to always do their very best and to be a great friend to others. At Byrd, it is our responsibility to know our job and do it well! This means that each day we come in to school with a positive attitude and we are ready to learn. We will show respect and self-control. In Kindergarten we will learn what these expectations look like! We have a wonderful time in Kindergarten and we make the best friends along the way! 

We will be using Class Dojo to communicate, share pictures, reward behavior with points and share what we are learning. Most of my communication will happen through Class Dojo so please be sure to "join" our class!
