Hello, my name is Lisa Duncan. I am the Reading Interventionist at Byrd Elementary School for kindergarten through second grade students. This is my tenth year teaching at Byrd. I taught third grade virtually in the 2020-21 school term and, face to face, several years prior. I taught 1st grade for two years before moving to third grade.

I taught kindergarten and was the Reading Interventionist in Richmond County in Augusta, Georgia. I was with that county for 13 years prior to crossing the Savannah River and landing in Aiken County. My husband, Mike and I are both educators.  We have four adult daughters and six grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with my family and outside of the classroom my home is often filled with loved ones! My favorite vacation spot is Hilton Head Island, where we visit several times a year.

I love children and especially enjoy building relationships with them while watching them grow! I am looking forward to supporting and assisting children with reading this year. Serving people and investing in the lives of students is my mission and has been for all of my life!
