Ms. Samantha Tietjen
Hello, my name is Samantha Tietjen. I am so excited about working at Byrd Elementary this school year. This will be my 8th year teaching. I got my bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from State College of Florida with a specialization in special education. I have taught 4k Special Education for 5 years and 4K for 2 years in Florida. I have also taught 1 year olds and 2 year olds at private preschools. This is my first year teaching in South Carolina. I am excited about teaching Early Learning Special Education for the 2022-2023 school year.
When I am not teaching, I like to spend my time bowling, hiking, camping, and spending time with my family. I am a Disney fan and also like my coffee either hot or iced. I am originally from Florida but moved to South Carolina in December of 2021 to be closer to family.
Fun fact- I grew up 15 minutes from Disney World in FL and could see the Disney fireworks every night from across the lake I lived on.
