Hi! I am so excited to be a part of the Byrd Elementary family. 

This is my 31st year teaching public school.  I received my Bachelor's and Masters degrees in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University.  I earned my Educational Specialist degree from Augusta State University.  I have taught many different grade levels, but I am very happy to be back in first grade.

I have three children.  My oldest son and his wife gave me the best gifts ever-two grandsons! They live in the Graniteville area, and my daughter-in-law attended Byrd Elementary when she was a child. My middle child, a son, is currently living and working close to my parents.  My daughter is working to achieve her Cosmetology license. I cannot forget my dog, Dixie.  She is a Maltipoo who loves to play and be chased around the house.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Spending time outdoors, being active in my church, reading, and looking for new activities for my class are other things that make me happy.

It is my desire to make first grade a year that your child will not forget. I hope we will make many good memories together.
