Welcome to 5th Grade!

I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! This is my 23rd year in education. I taught 5th grade for eleven years in Illinois, four years in private school in South Carolina, four years at Chukker Creek, and this is my fourth year at Byrd! I have been called to this profession and love it dearly. I believe student engagement is absolutely crucial, school-home communication is necessary, and data-driven decisions are essential. 

I have three amazing boys. They keep me busy on the baseball field, cross country trail, lacrosse and soccer field, and basketball court! In my spare time, I enjoy reading/journaling, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with my family. Chocolate and coffee are a must!
