Welcome to First Grade!

   My name is Jennifer Barton.  This is my 24th year teaching at Byrd Elementary.  I attended Byrd Elementary as a student, as well!  I have always taught first grade and I absolutely love to teach little ones to read.  I received my Bachelor's degree from U.S.C.A. in 1999 and received my Master's Degree from Lesley University in 2014.

   I am happily married to Shawn Barton.  We have been married for twenty-two years and we have two boys that are my world.  Braylon is 18 years old and Cameron is 15 years old.  I love to spend any free time I have with my family.  Camping is our favorite thing to do.  I spend most of my afternoons at sporting events since both of my boys play three different sports.   This year will be a little different as I send Braylon off to Presbyterian College.
