 WELCOME!

My name is Nancy Arciaga, aka Ms. A. I'm a special education teacher of some of the most awesome students of Aiken High. I teach students with mild/moderate intellectual disabilities in a self-contained setting from grades 9-12+.

I have been in education for 14 years; this is my 8th year at Aiken High. 

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time outdoors. I learned to use the paddleboard this summer, and I enjoyed it. I also love visiting state parks and going camping. Fishing will be my next goal.

My class' focus is on learning life skills. Our goal is to impart skills our students need that will help them navigate their life after high school. Most Fridays, we are in the kitchen to learn how to cook, do the laundry, and fold clothes. We also have community-based instruction where we apply our knowledge in real-world settings, e.g., eating at restaurants, going to the mall, attending sporting events, etc.
