The purpose of the math team at Aiken High is to give students a chance to advance their mathematical skills beyond the classroom.  Most of the contests we compete in prove to be quite challenging for students.  We typically compete in 5 events.  These include matches at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, College of Charleston, Augusta University, and Furman University.  It also includes the American Mathematics Competition Test, which is given at the school. 

Any student in any grade is eligible to compete on the math team.  

Currently, it is unknown if the competitions at the unversities will continue.  Usually, competitions are held beginning in January.  Please continue to check this page and/or come by and see Miss Toepke in Room B112 if you are interested in being a part of the math team.  Miss Toepke will make an announcement over the intercom when/if practices resume for this school year.
