Awarding our hardworking teachers and staff
Congratulations to this year's Teacher of the Year, Carissa Taylor! She was chosen from our honor court of exceptional teachers. “Teacher of the Year Honor Court” was Carissa Taylor (Kindergarten teacher), Hillary Bennett (PE teacher), and Cassie Cagle (SPED self-contained teacher.) Ms. Carissa Taylor has been chosen from these women to represent Byrd Elementary School as our school’s teacher of the year. Then, they will be in the running for District and then State teacher of the year.
Congratulations to our GEM winner, Nurse Jennifer Wright. Our GEM (Giving Even More Award) nominees were Jennifer Wright (school nurse), Linda Barton (secretary), Sharon Woodward (5K aide), Sherry Scott (SPED aide), Tammy Reddish (SPED aide), and Pam Grandy (library aide).
Congratulations to Kristin Fraley, our first year teacher award winner. First year teacher nominees are Keely Seider (5K), and Kristin Fraley (4K.)
