    IMPORTANT CLASS INFORMATION:

    • Bathroom Policy- Students will not be allowed to go to the restroom between classes this school year (per administration). Students need to report to class to get a pass from me FIRST. Failing to do this could lead to consequences, so please be mindful of your time. Students will not be allowed to use the restroom when I am teaching or going over directions for an assignment.

    • Grading will occur regularly.  I personally try to have any assignment a student turns in graded within 3 school days. I do except late work, however students should not expect to receive full credit on those assignments.  Homework grades that are turned in late will earn a max grade of a 50.  Quizzes and Tests grades will be discussed on the basis of the individual assignment.  This year grades will be calculated as such:

    Quarter:  Tests 50%, Quizzes 30%, Homework 10%, Classwork 10%

    90 – 100 (A), 80 – 89 (B), 70 – 79 (C), 60 – 69 (D), 0 – 59 (F)

    • Academic dishonesty in any form is unacceptable.  This includes, but is not limited to, copying any kind of work from another student or sharing answers with another student, plagiarism, or using any form of aid on a test or quiz.  If for any reason a student is perceived as cheating, especially during a test, the following actions will be taken:

    • The assignment, quiz or test will be confiscated and will be given a grade of zero.
    • The student(s) will be asked to remain after class and explain their actions.
    • The parents(s) will be contacted to report the incident.

Global Perspectives is about the many different vantage points and walks of life around the world.  Be prepared to discuss historical and current concepts and events at home with your child.  This will increase their understanding of the relevance of history to current events.  Controversial topics will be discussed.

Lastly, I encourage all parents and guardians to contact me with any questions or concerns. I do have a Google Voice account set up to allow contact via text message, phone call or voicemail. I will be able to see these notifications on my personal phone as well as my computer. My number is (803)761-0380 . I am available any time. I cannot promise immediate responses, but I ensure some type of response within a 24 hour time frame during the work week. Also, my email address is rjohnson7@acpsd.net.
