• DUAL ENROLLMENT

  • UofSC Aiken Dual/Concurrent Enrollment
Concurrent Admission is a program offered by the University of South Carolina Aiken (UofSC Aiken) to high school juniors and seniors. It provides an opportunity for students who are capable of meeting an increased challenge to earn college credit by taking courses offered by the university while still enrolled in high school.  Students are exposed to personalized instruction in traditional UofSC Aiken courses with USC Aiken faculty and students.

UofSC Aiken strongly encourages high school students to enroll in Advanced Placement (AP) courses that are available at their high school.  AP courses combined with dual/concurrent courses at UofSC Aiken will prepare high school students for the rigors of a four-year institution.

Qualifications for UofSC Aiken Dual Enrollment:

    • Be in the top 25% of your class and/or have a 3.5+ GPA on the SC UGP
    • Have a score of 1020+ on the SAT/PSAT and/or 21+ on the ACT/PreACT
    • Take a College Prep or higher curriculum in high school

Early Start: Dual Enrollment is Aiken Technical College’s dual enrollment program. It is designed to allow qualified and highly motivated Aiken County, private or home-schooled high school students the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school by taking either general studies classes, or enrolling in the Pre-Engineering or General Education Pathway. Students can earn both high school and college credit (dual credit) or just college credit (concurrent).

Dual enrollment students should have at least the minimum test scores on one or more of the following placement tests:

    • SAT Scores: 500 (verbal) plus ACCUPLACER math
    • ACT Scores: English sub-score of 18 and Math sub-score of 22
    • PSAT Scores: 500 (verbal) and 500 (math) for PSAT tests administered after October 2015

Dual enrollment applicants who do not meet these requirements may take the free ACCUPLACER placement test on campus at ATC, but will need to test into college-level courses in order to be accepted in the Early Start: Dual Enrollment Program.
