Welcome to Child Development & Early Childhood Education! I am so excited to be sharing my teaching experiences with my students. I have taught for 19 years in a variety of settings as a certified teacher in a public school system, and have had additional teaching experiences as well. 

This is my sixth year at Aiken High, and I am so excited to be back. I look forward to inspiring my students to consider teaching as a career. When I was in high school, I took a CTE Early Childhood Education class that prepared me for work in a daycare or preschool setting, but it also pushed me to consider teaching as a wider career. I have now come full circle and am teaching the program that inspired me. Teaching is my passion and calling, and if I can share that passion with my students, I have done my job!

I attended Niwot High School and St. Vrain Valley Career Development Center, and graduated in the top 10% of my class. I went to Mid-Atlantic Christian University (formerly Roanoke Bible College) for my Bachelor's Degree and graduated as Valedictorian, with a degree in Elementary Education. I attended Norfolk State University to obtain a Master's of Arts in Teaching in Early Childhood Education and my teaching certificate. I have also taken the additional courses needed to obtain my CTE Early Childhood Education certification through the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance (GPIDEA) and Texas Tech University.

After teaching for 1 year in Norfolk, VA, my husband and I moved to South Carolina. I have been in South Carolina for 22 years, and look forward to being a part of the Aiken High family for many years to come!
