• The Family + Consumer Sciences Pathway (FCS) is a CTE Program that is part of the Education + Training and Human Services clusters.

    The Course Sequence is as follows: (3 credits are required - the sequence below is what is available in-person at Aiken High)

    1. Child Development 1 * ♦

      • 1 block, 1 credit course - recommended starting point

    2. Child Development 2 * ♦

      • 1 block, 1 credit course - recommended if you are going into the ECE program as well

    3. Early Childhood Education 1 ♦

      • 1 block, 1 credit course - HONORS - required if you are going into the ECE program as well

    4. Advanced Personal Finance 

      • 1 block, 1 credit course - offered through the business department at AHS

    Not all of these courses are required for completion - discuss these and other options, including virtual courses, with your guidance counselor.

    Possible Industry Credentials to be earned:

    1. 15-hour Pre-sevice Health and Safety Training (ECE 1)

    2. ServSafe Food Handler (Ch. Dev. 2)
