Hi Families!

First and foremost, please give your sweet baby a hug for me and let them know I miss them so much. I hope at this point you all have looked over your distant learning packet.  I know as you begin working there will be times that you need help or assistance.  I will have office hours Tuesday-Friday 9am-11am & 1pm-3pm. I plan to use the remind app as my form of communication.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to message me.   I can be available through text, phone, or FaceTime.  I will be messaging/calling each of you throughout this week to check in.

-I have already noticed some typos with the DL packets.  If the answer is not a choice, just write it out beside the problem.

-The Math packet also instructs you to login into a new program called Edmentum.  You can access Edmentum through Clever, which is the program I used to help you get into ABC Mouse.  You can access Clever through the acpsd.net website

-Edmentum is new to your child and me.  I will try my best to help you as you try to use it.  Your child will need to complete the diagnostic test for Math, Reading, and Language Arts first.  Afterwards, you should be able to access the activities and learning paths the district has set.  If you can’t get the program to work, just have your child spend their digital time on Reflex, which is a program we are very familiar with.

-Reading logs were added to your packets.  Please make sure you are reading with your child daily.  The Journey text book is “on level” so your child should be able to read those stories with ease.  If you need more books to read you can find a link on my webpage to Epic Books.  There is an F&P leveled section to provide you books on your child’s level. 

I hate we are under these circumstances but on the positive side, this is valuable, quality time you get to spend with your child. Please do not hesitate to contact me during this time.  Thanks again!

On November 22nd, your child is asked to please dress up as their future career.  Please come dressed for your job, just make sure to wear tennis shoes if you have PE. We will also have guest speakers coming to help discuss different community helpers and what their jobs are like. If you would like to be a speaker for career day, contact Erica Williams our guidance counselor. 

American Education Week is November 18th-22nd. We will be learning about careers. Your child received a blank person in their notebooks. Please work with your child and have them decorate the person to represent what he or she wants to be when they grow up. You are more than welcome to use any items to decorate with. Be as creative as you would like. Once you are finished, parents please cut out and return to school on or before Tuesday, November 12th, 2019.
