• Welcome to Clinical Studies!

We are finally here! Clinical studies is an advanced course that engaged students in the real world medical field. Students in this course have completed Health Science 1, Health Science 2 and Health Science 3. Students who have been accepted into this program will be exposed to real world medical field opportunities. They will be given the chance to work along side of real health care professionals in their career setting and gain a up close and personal experience. Students may be in hospitals, doctors’ offices, local quick clinics, nursing homes and other medical specialty locations.

Students have the opportunity to engage in clinical skills with real hands on medical world training. We have partnered with Aiken Regional Medical Center, University of South Carolina Aiken and other nearby facilities to offer extensive hands on training.

In this course, students will prepare for the CPCT (Certified Patient Care Technician) and/or the CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) certification. These are board-certified exams that authorizes students to leave high school and go straight to working in the medical field. They can be employed in long-term care facilities, hospitals, home health, hospice and many more.

Students enrolled in this course will complete 120 hours of on the job training, 50 volunteer hours and will be permitted to sit for their Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification and/or their phlebotomy certification.

At the completion of the program, students will have a portfolio that will allow them to stand out and be substantially more marketable.
