Community-Oriented Administrator Named Principal of Paul Knox Middle School

Paige Day has called North Augusta High School home since 2002. The former English Teacher turned Administrator will soon make another North Augusta school hers beginning in the 2019-20 school year as the newly-named Principal of Paul Knox Middle School.

“I attended both Paul Knox and North Augusta High School,” Day commented. “I am personally vested in the success of this community and am so excited about being part of a successful team focused on and passionate about supporting students.”

Day has served as the Assistant Principal of Instruction at North Augusta High School (NAHS) since 2011 and as the Summer School Principal for several years. In support of academic programming at NAHS, Day has led a number of programs, including the Freshman Academy, Advanced Placement Academy, Virtual Summer School, and Professional Development, while also serving as the coordinator for testing and master scheduling.

Though certainly skilled in a number of leadership areas, perhaps Day’s greatest strength lies in her ability to foster transition and implement programs. Having aided in creation and implementation of the Freshman and Advanced Placement Academies at the high school level, Day’s focus on solid classroom instruction and diverse curriculum offerings will be an asset to Paul Knox.

“With the science and technology focus at Paul Knox, I’m looking forward to facilitating challenging learning opportunities which will make our students ready participants in our future workforce,” she commented.

Day received her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston. She also has a Masters Degree in Secondary Education and English, as well as an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Augusta State University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education from Georgia Southern University. Day frequently presents at District and statewide conferences, has endorsements in Advanced Placement English and Gifted and Talented education, and recently trained in Cyber Curriculum with the National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center (NICERC).

“We look forward to Mrs. Day’s leadership at Paul Knox,” Jeanie Glover, Chief Officer of Instruction commented. “Her commitment to the community combined with an innovative spirit and growth mindset are the right mix for this growing community school to ensure it’s well poised to nurture those that already call North Augusta home and welcome those who soon will.”
