Mrs. E. Denise McCray will serve as the first principal of Aiken Intermediate School (AIS). She is currently serving as the principal of Schofield Middle School for the 2018-2019 school year, and is looking forward to transitioning to AIS for the 2019-2020 school year.
Mrs. McCray believes there is a great opportunity to have an impact on all students in city of Aiken and will provide them with a postiive experience at AIS. With a background at the elementary level and experience at the middle school level, Mrs. McCray understands what students and parents are going through during this transition period, and will focus on building student confidence and developing the ability to advocate for themselves.

- Master of Science in Elementary Education – Troy University, Dothan, AL
- Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education- Auburn University, Auburn, AL
- Gifted and Talented Endorsement- University of South Carolina-Columbia

Ms. Jamie Byrne will serve as an assistant principal of AIS. She is currently serving as the assistant principal of Kennedy Middle School for the 2018-2019 school year, and is looking forward to transitioning to AIS for the 2019-2020 school year.
Ms. Byrne previously taught sixth-grade math prior to being appointed the assistant principal at Kennedy Middle School in 2007.

- Batchelors degree in Elementary Education- University of South Carolina-Aiken
