Brian Allen

My name is Brian Allen and I'm one of the new kids (a very liberal interpretation of the term "kid" mind you) on the block at XSEL. After nearly a decade as a paraprofessional social worker dealing directly with children and adolescents, I spent 17 years as a Registered Nurse in a variety of settings. I bring a creative mindset to the workplace and am looking forward to the challenges (opportunities in disguise) and rewards presented by this unique program.

I'm a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter with a lifelong love affair with music. I can often be found onstage with my wife, who has played bass with me in several bands. When not at work or onstage, you can find me at home with my wife, two teenage boys, Louie the dog, Cricket the cat, 4 chickens and a dozen or so fish.

Michael Wallace

My name is Michael Wallace, known to most people as Mike. I'm excited to have recently joined the team here at XSEL! I worked with elementary-age students as a Special-Needs Paraprofessional and as an Educational Specialist with the Be Great after-school program in Kershaw County school district prior to relocating to Aiken County.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Anthropology. I am a huge fan of military re-enactments. You may even find me dressed for battle during the Battle of Aiken each February. I enjoy travel, especially international travel, however being former U.S. Navy I do not enjoy cruises.

I'm the proud father of two adult daughters. My oldest daughter is expecting my first grandchild in June. Just call me "Oupa" in waiting!

It's an honor and a pleasure to be working with our students here at XSEL.
