Employee Self Service (ESS) Registration Directions

  • Click "Register" on main login screen and follow the instructions below

    1. User Name - your choice
    2. Email - any e-mail address you would like to use that is active and you have access to. A confirmation link will be sent to this e-mail. This e-mail is also used for the Tasks part of ESS.
    3. First Name -must match what is in SmartFusion as your legal name.
    4. Last Name - must match what is in SmartFusion as your legal name.
    5. Social Security Number - enter without hyphens
    6. Employee Number - number assigned by SmartFusion. Can be found on current paystub.
    7. Password - Minimum of 6 characters in length
    8. Confirm Password - re-enter password
    9. Click Register
    10. Once the Register button is clicked, you will see a message in the top right corner of the screen. You will need to check your e-mail for a confirmation e-mail to sign into ESS.
    11. Click the Confirmation Link in the e-mail. Once the registration has been confirmed, you may login to ESS. Enter user name and password. Then click Log In.

    How to Update Personal Information

    The only information that can be updated at this time is your W-4 form:

    • Click on W4 on left of screen, select "both".
    • Make any changes to the form and electronically sign at the bottom by typing your name exactly as shown. (no period if there isn't one after your middle initial)
    • Enter date and go to top of page to submit
    • To see the status of your request, click on Tasks on the left side of main page.


    *IMPORTANT: To complete a name change, you must complete and submit the Universal Name/Address Change with a copy of your social security card showing the name change to Human Resources.

     

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What if I forget my password?
    Click "Forgot Password" on main login screen.  Enter your Username or Employee ID and click "Recover".  An email will be sent to you with a password reset token.  Click the link in your e-mail.  This link will take you to the ESS Login screen with a box in the top right hand corner with your new password.  Enter your username and this new password.  You should be logged in at this time.  Please see next question to change this password to a password you prefer.

    How do I change my password?
    Log in to ESS with current password.  Click your username located at the top right hand corner next to "Hello".  Under "Change Password", enter your current and new password.  When done, click "Change Account".  Your password has been changed at this point.


    How do I change the e-mail address used in ESS?
    Log in to ESS.  Click your username located at the top right hand corner next to "Hello".  Under "Employee Information", enter the e-mail address you would like to use to receive correspondence from ESS.  When done, click "Change Account".  Your e-mail is updated at this point.

    How secure is my personal information?
    Your information is encrypted for privacy and will remain secure as long as you protect your password. You should change your password periodically.

    How do I print an image of my paycheck summary?
    Images of your check detail are available in Employee Self-Service as of the date of the check. On the main page choose Payroll Actions, click Check Inquiry, double click on check date to bring up printable summary. Click printer icon on upper left corner to print.
