Dr. John Bradley was raised in Columbia, South Carolina, and began his professional career as a Psychologist, while holding a BS, MA, and Ph. D in psychology from the University of South Carolina in Columbia.

Following a move to Aiken County, he served as an assistant superintendent for Aiken County Public Schools for 21 years. Dr. Bradley then served as a clinical psychologist at the Savannah River Site and operated his own private practice.

He first ran for the school board two years after retiring from the school district, and served on the board for the next 16 years prior to his re-election in December, 2019.
