Welcome to North Augusta High School! I am so excited about this upcoming school year! My name is Alexandra McCarthy. I currently live in North Augusta with my husband and my 6-year-old son, 9 month-old son and our two dogs. 

I received my Bachelor's degree in International Relations in the Middle East from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas. After completing college, I completed an alternative certification program through the state of Texas to become certified as a high school Social Studies teacher. After teaching in Texas, I moved to Augusta, Georgia, where I taught high school social studies and high school English for five years. I received my Master's in Military History in World War II from American Military University, and am currently working on my dissertation for my Ph.D. in Genocide and Holocaust Studies from Gratz College. This year I will be teaching English II, English II Honors and English III.
