• Welcome to the North Augusta High School Bands!

The North Augusta Bands have a long-standing tradition of performance at the highest level. The mission of the North Augusta Bands is to advance individual musical ability, enhance independent musicianship and build character and good school citizenship through discipline and a healthy, family atmosphere. The band program is comprised of the Concert Band classes, which include the Wind Ensemble, the Symphonic Band, and the Concert Band, and the Jacket Regiment marching band, which includes the winds, percussion, and color guard. State of the Band meetings are held monthly for all parents and students to provide important updates and information regarding all ensembles of the North Augusta Bands.

    Concert Band

The core of the band curriculum is the concert band class. There are three concert bands: the Wind Ensemble, the Symphonic Band, and the Concert Band. The Wind Ensemble is the advanced concert ensemble and is comprised of the highest caliber musicians in the school. The Symphonic Band is the intermediate concert ensemble and is intended for all wind and percussion musicians who are looking to advance to the next level. The Concert Band is typically for incoming freshman to inhance their musical knowledge at the high school level. These ensembles perform in various concerts and performance assessments after the conclusion of the marching band season, including:

    • Winter Concert in December and Spring Concert in April/May
    • Local Community Events
    • Region Band/ All-State Auditions and Clinics
    • Solo and Ensemble
    • Concert Performance Assessment

More information about these events will be provided by the Directors as soon as they become available.

    Jacket Regiment

The Jacket Regiment is the premier marching band at North Augusta High School. The Jacket Regiment is a competitive outdoor performance ensemble that competes in Class 4A for the South Carolina Band Director's Association. Competitive marching bands must have a healthy attitude and philosophy. The band's attitude is "We compete against one band - and that band is us - the NAHS Jacket Regiment." The overall objective is to strive for excellence and to perform one's best by maintaining a Personal Dedication to Excellence.

The Jacket Regiment consists of the winds, the percussion (battery and front ensemble), and the color guard. Students interested in dance, choreography, and movement may choose to audition for our color guard. Auditions for both color guard and percussion occur in the Spring for the following year. The Jacket Regiment rehearses throughout the year to prepare for the competitive season, starting with mini-camps that occur through the summer. These are followed by Band Camp, which brings all members together for the last two weeks of the summer to learn the marching, music, and routines required for the show performed in the fall. Once school starts, regular season rehearsals are held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The Jacket Regiment attends all home football games and select away games during the fall, and performs at competitions on Saturdays from late September through the end of October.

The Jacket Regiment had a very successful 2019 competitive season. They won the Grand Champion award at the Mustang Classic event at Midland Valley High School and the Band of Warriors event at Grovetown High School, and placed 5th at the SCBDA 3A State Championships. We are excited for this next year of growth and musical excellence for the members of the Jacket Regiment!
