               ¡Hola! Welcome to Spanish Class!

 My name is Azilde C. Worley. I am originally from Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic, but I've been living in SC since 1988. Most of those years have been dedicated to the art of teaching. My years of experience and broad skills allow me to enjoy teaching the language that I love with the technology available to keep our students engaged in the process of being successful at communicating in a new language.

I am delighted to bring to class my Hispanic heritage, cultural knowledge, and traveling experiences to make the learning environment more fun and interesting. Speaking of traveling, several summers ago, I traveled around the world with my daughter and went to Barcelona, London, Athens, Santorini, and Venice in Europe. Then, we headed via Dubai to Bankok in Asia. Finally, our trip ended in Sydney and The Great Barrier Reef.

My relevant qualifications and experience include the SCDE Spanish Certification, BA in Spanish, and MFA in Video. This is my 9thth year as Spanish Teacher at North Augusta HS. In this role, I am responsible for teaching Spanish level 2, to 9-12 graders. I have also taught for about 14 years at the College of Charleston and other universities in Charleston.

My goals in the classroom are to keep your children safe and teach them fluency in Spanish while maintaining a fun and comfortable environment. If your child participates and puts forth effort, he/she will achieve these goals.

I am looking forward to a new teaching year and having your child as one of my students in Spanish classes.
