Hello Parents,

Welcome to our Learning Strategies class!  My name is Kim Miles, and I am the Learning Strategies teacher for your child. For the last several years, I have worked at the district level as a Program Specialist in a support/coaching role. Last year, I returned to the classroom, working part-time at JMS and part time at Aiken Innovate. I realized that I had missed the classroom and working directly with students.  I will teach part time at NAHS and part time in the home-based environment for the 23-24 school year.  I am very HAPPY to be here!

This is my 33rd year in education and my first at NAHS.  I was born and raised in Kingsport, TN, but I have been living in North Augusta for over 30 years!  I graduated from Erskine College and Southern Wesleyan, where I earned my undergrad and Master’s degree in Education.  I am also National Board Certified.  

When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends.  My twins are starting their sophomore year in college this fall and my baby will be a first-year student at University of SC. I enjoy watching movies, snow skiing, working in my yard and reading. 

I will be using research-based curriculum to instruct in the areas of reading, writing, math, and social skills in our classroom.  I will also spend time supporting your child in their other content classes.  Please encourage your child to bring their assignments to our class if they need additional support.
