THE NORTH AUGUSTA STUDENT ART SHOW will be on display April 30 - May 10 at the North Augusta Municipal Center. We encourage everyone to stop by and see the art work from students throughout the North Augusta Area, including quite a few pieces from our very own students here at NAHS.

TO ASSIST PARENTS of our Multilingual Learners' in completing the registration form the 2024-2025 school year, NAHS will host Area 2's yearly ML Registration Night. This event will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 5:00-7:30 pm in the NAHS Media Center and is open to students and parents in Area 2. We look forward to welcoming everyone there!

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTION will take place on Tuesday, April 23rd at 5:30pm in the Jacket Arena. Inductees should arrive at 5:20pm.

NAHS FOOD OPTIONS! Come let us know whether it’s “Love it!” or “Lose It!” as you taste test entrées from the following dining concepts: Bok Choy, Big City BBQ, and The Roost on Wednesday, April 17th! After voting commences, you can expect to enjoy the winning station's menu items for the rest of the school year when you dine in the cafeteria.

THE 2024 GARCIA ORCHESTRA FESTIVAL concert is on Wednesday April 17th at 6:30pm in the Etherredge Center at USC Aiken! This event serves as a celebration of Orchestra in Aiken County, and features middle and high school Orchestra and Band students from across the school district. We hope to see you there!

STUDENT PARKING APPLICATIONS for the 2024-2025 school year will be sold during all three lunches on Tuesday, April 16. Parking costs $25.00 and will be sold outside the counseling office (on Knox Avenue). The application form can be found below or in the main office.

YOUTH CADDIE PROGRAM is for students age 14 and older.

AIKEN INNOVATE, is accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year. Any student interested should reach out to your school counselor for an application. The Aiken Innovate application period ends on February 15th. If you have questions about the program, please go to their webpage at  or email them at ai@acpsd.net.

AMERICAN LEGION PALMETTO BOYS STATE is coming this summer! AL PBS is a weeklong summer program designed to immerse Junior Boys in a real, functioning government, in the mythical State of Palmetto. You’ll meet lots of new friends from across the state, and you may even be eligible for college scholarships! Be sure to pick up an application in the counseling office. Applications are due on Friday, February 23.

NEW BELL SCHEDULE goes into effect when we return from winter break on January 4th, 2024. We recommend all students print their schedule prior to the 4th. On January 4th, students should report directly to 1st period. School opens at 8:10am, with 1st period starting at 8:20am. 

NAHS SEMESTER EXAM POLICY: Semester examinations for semester and yearlong courses shall be administered for all courses.  All students are required to take exams except for a special education student whose IEP specifically excludes exams and seniors who may exempt the end of the year examination due to having a grade of “A” in the course for the year.  The final grade for a two-semester course will be determined by averaging both semesters’ grades.  Nine-week exams may be given at the end of the first and third nine-week grading period per teacher discretion.  Exams are extremely important and students are required to be in attendance on the scheduled date of exams.  Semester exams count 20% of the semester grade.

The following expectations will be adhered to for exams at North Augusta High School without exception:

• Exams will not be administered prior to the scheduled date.
• Students who know in advance that they will be absent for an exam must get advance administrative approval for the absence to be excused.  If the absence is not excused, the student will not be able to take the exam upon return from the absence.  The request must be made in writing and signed by the parent.  The request must be made at least 30 school days prior to the exam.
• Aside from prior-approved absences, the only absences that will result in approval for making up the exam will be those accompanied by a doctor’s excuse or death in the immediate family.
• Parents may not sign out students during the exam block.  It is a classroom disruption when students are signed out during exams, so students will only be released at the conclusion of the exam blocks.  Should a student have a doctor’s appointment, the student will need to have a note from a parent stating what time they need to leave class.  The request to be dismissed from class early must be approved by an administrator and include both the parent’s and administrator’s signatures in order for the teacher to release the student.

NAHS ORCHESTRA will perform their 2024 Winter Concert, "Sounds of the Season"! The performance will take place in the Wesley Center at Grace United Methodist Church (639 Georgia Ave, North Augusta, SC 29841) on Monday December 11^th at 7pm. We look forward to seeing you there to celebrate the musical accomplishments of these fine young musicians! 

CHORAL CONCERT featuring students, parents, faculty and staff will be held on Thursday, December 14th at 7:00pm at Grace Methodist Church.

ATTENTION JUNIORS: The Coolidge Scholarship is a merit-based annually awarded full-ride, presidential scholarship that covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study to any accredited college or university in the U.S. Must read President Coolidge’s Autobiography and complete a few other reading assignments. While the book is not overly long, we encourage juniors to begin the application early. Submission Deadline: 5:00 PM Pacific time, Wednesday, January 18, 2024. 

SAT TEST ADMINISTRATION will occur this Saturday, December 2nd. Students should arrive at 7:45am.

HEARING AND VISION tests will occur after winter break. The deadline to Opt Out is December 15th. If you would like to opt out of your child participating, please send a note in to the nurse by December 15th. If you have any questions, please call 803-442-6100 ext 2.

EXAMS start the week of December 4th. 

Virtual SC and ACVA exams will be given on Wednesday, December 6th and Thursday, December 7th in the Media Center. Students should report to the Media Center at 8:50am, immediately following homeroom. Students with last names A-K will take all of their virtual exams on December 6th, and students with last names L-Z will take all of their virtual exams on December 7th. See your counselor for more information.

EOC Exams will start on Friday, December 8th and continue through Friday, December 15th during 1st block. EOC exams count 20% of the students' overall grade.  

Fall Semester Exams will be given on Monday, December 18th (1st and 2nd periods) and Tuesday, December 19th (3rd and 4th periods) during the regular scheduled block times. All students are required to be in attendance and take their exams on those days. These exams will count 20% of the students' total semester grade.

VIRTUAL EXAMS for both ACVA and VSC courses will be held on Wednesday, December 6th for students with last names A-K, and on Thursday, December 7th for students with last names L-Z. They will be held in the Media Center starting at 8:50am.

CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Koonce and the NAHS Beta Club for winning the Golden Harvest Food Bank’s Spooky to be Hungry Outstanding High School award.

MISS NASH Pageant will be held on Saturday, February 10th. The time to be announced.

EOC (End of Course) exams are administered to any student enrolled in English 2, Algebra 1, US History, and Biology 1 for the Fall semester.  EOC exams count 20% of the students' overall grade.  Students will be scheduled to take their EOC during 1^st block of the scheduled date.

TEACHER CADET applications are now available for the NAHS 2024-2025 Teacher Cadet Dual Enrollment course. Interested Juniors should pick up an application packet from either Mr. Kyle Smith in SS 306 or in the School Counseling Office. Students wishing to be considered for the Teacher Cadet program must be able to drive. Completed applications should be returned to Mr. Kyle Smith in SS 306.  

JACKET FOOTBALL PLAYOFF GAME will be held this Friday, November 3rd at 7:30pm in the Jacket's Nest. As a reminder, only High School League Passes will be accepted. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through GoFan or with cash at the gate. Come out and support your Jackets this Friday!

USC AIKEN is offering some special visit options this fall called “Focused Fridays.” Each Friday is different and unique for specific schools and colleges across campus. Students will have the opportunity to hear from the deans of the school or college, interact with professors and students while participating in hands-on activities, free lunch, as well as enjoy a campus tour with admissions ambassadors. Please see picture for dates and QR code to register!

ACCTC OPENINGS for Spring 2024! You must be a sophomore to apply for Fashion Design. You must be a junior to apply for Law Enforcement or Emergency and Fire Management. See your counselor by November 3rd if you are interested.

SENIOR PICTURES for students who did not have a picture made will occur on October 25th from 8am - 10am in the cafeteria.

JUNIOR AND SOPHOMORE IGP appointment letters were placed in Homeroom teacher’s boxes this morning. Students will also be invited through their Office 365 calendars. These IGP meetings will begin after fall break. 

VETERAN'S DAY ASSEMBLY - We are still looking for student Military veteran grandparents or relatives to be recognized and participate in our school's Veterans Day Assembly on Nov 10th. Students please see CDR Beck or MGySgt Thompson in NJ before Fall break.

FOOD DELIVERIES - Food deliveries are not accepted at NAHS.  Breakfast and lunch are provided free of charge to students by School Food Service.  If a student has specific dietary needs, please let us know so that we can coordinate a specific meal plan with School Food Service.

ATHLETIC EVENT SAFETY PROTOCOLS - Clear bags are required...

SCHOOL SAFETY - In preparation for more frequent Weapons Detection, middle and high school students are asked to refrain from bringing in stainless steel water bottles, metal utensils from home, and scissors. Large metal objects result in positive detection and necessitate a search. As secondary students return from Fall Break in mid-October for second quarter, the restriction of these items will be mandatory.

High school student attendees to athletic events must present a school or government ID or be prepared to show their PowerSchool information on their phone for entry without a supervising adult.  Student IDs have been purchased and will be provided to our students.
