Ladies¡¯ JV Squad Captures SC DNR Trap State Championship; Skeet Runner-Up Honors

Ladies’ JV squad captures SC DNR Trap State Championship; Skeet Runner-Up honors in Edgefield

It was a historic weekend at the range for the NAHS Clay Target team.

The JV Ladies’ squad of Britton Breazeale, Emma Sherman, and Ellie Williams won the 2024 SC DNR Trap Championship on Friday afternoon at the NWTF Palmetto Range in Edgefield.  The squad broke 97 clays to win the title by 4 clays over a very competitive field.

Ellie Williams also claimed individual honors breaking 37 clays (out of 50) to win individual state champion honors.

This is the first Ladies’ championship in program history.  NAHS has offered a Clay Target team (including coed squads) since 2017 and fielded the first Ladies' division squad in 2023.

The next day, the same trio finished second in the state in the Skeet Championship putting the NAHS Ladies’ program back on the podium in consecutive events.

Other scores saw the Varsity Ladies' squad finish 5th in skeet and the PKMS Boys finish 3rd in trap to round out the weekend.
