FAQs
This is some of the most common questions I get. I will add to this page as necessary. If you would like to submit a question, please do so in the comments below.
Q: What are the requirements to be in Beta Club.
A: The requirement for non-members to receive in invitation to join is to have a GPA of 4.0 beginning your sophomore year. To maintain membership, a member must complete 12 service hours from a minimum of 4 service projects.
Q: I mowed my Grandma's grass. Can I get some service hours.
A: All hours that are not sanctioned by the Beta Club (ie: Spooky to be Hungry, Christmas Child, etc) must be pre-approved by Mrs. Koonce. There is a form to fill out in her room. Hours not preapproved will not be accepted.
Q: I was a member of Beta at my old school. Will you send me another invitation.
A: Beta is a national organization and your membership will be transferred assuming you meet the GPA requirement.
Q: My GPA went below a 4.0. Am I out of Beta?
A: While Beta wants students to achieve academic excellence, they understand that sometimes things happen. Any member with a GPA below a 4.0 will be placed on probation until the end of the semester. At that time, there GPA will be reevaluated. If it is a 4.0 again, no worries. If the you have failed to reach the requirement, then you will no longer be a member of the local chapter.
