    FBLA Presents to Optimist Club

NORTH AUGUTSTA HIGH SCHOOL FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS PRESENT PROJECTS TO THE NORTH AUGUSTA OPTIMIST CLUB

On Tuesday, February 12, the Future Business Leaders of American Community Service and American Enterprise Project teams presented the 2019 FBLA projects to the North Augusta Optimist Club at the North Augusta Community Center. The North Augusta Optimist Club’s motto is “Friend of Youth.” They certainly live up to that motto in the eyes of North Augusta High School Future Business Leaders of America.

The FBLA Community Service team Bailey Gray, Bryson Parler, and Brayden Poorvin presents Project ROOTED, this year’s FBLA Community Service Project. The focus of this project is helping the uprooting find ground to grow.  This team is finding out ways to help the homelessness by reintroducing order and opportunity into society.

The FBLA American Enterprise team Chloe Caudill, Ryan Hendrick, and Matthew Owings presented Project ACE. Project ACE is taking over from last year’s Project GAP. The theme of last year’s Project GAP was aiding individuals to see the importance of post-secondary education and to develop skills that will give opportunities in today’s workforce. This year’s Project ACE’s theme is educating students in our schools and community with soft skills and workplace behavior.

The Optimist Club was receptive to the student presentations and wants to assist these students with their projects. The partnership between the Optimist Club and North Augusta FBLA aids students in becoming effective business leaders. Together the organizations are transmitting students and people successfully into the community, school, and workforce.

Following the presentations Optimist members asked questions related to the projects. Making presentations before state and national competition is good practice before the actually competition. Their feedback allows for the teams to make the changes needed for a better and more successful presentation.
