• We celebrated Navidad (Christmas) by drinking Mexican Abuelita hot cocoa with palomitas (popcorn) and conchas (sweet bread). We made Christmas cards that were delivered to a retirement home in our community, and we watched a Christmas movie.

  • We celebrated the Day of the Dead (el dia de los muertos). We used icing and sprinkles on sugar skull cookies. We also had Day of the Dead bread. The meeting was really fun!

  • We learned about traditional talavera art, and we created our own plates and cups using sharpies. This was a part of our Hispanic Heritage Month display. We had several snacks, including trying Vaquita suckers.

  • We had our first meeting of the year on September 13th. We played Loteria, and we tried some traditional food/drinks - such as Jarritos, Ranchitas, Vero suckers, Sponch, and Mexican cheetos.
